SOUND IN ENTERTAINMENT
AGES 7 - 12
Enter the industry of Audio, Sound, and Music Production industries where listening skills, creative expression, and team work is key! In this camp, students will sharpen these skills through a series of individual and small group projects including radio broadcasting, video games, and film trailers. They will explore recording tools that will create a path to discovering more about sound waves, frequencies, Foley sound, and music theory. Collaborative review and peer feedback will aid them in making smarter choices when composing music and sound for entertainment. At the close of this camp, students will know firsthand how entertainment media relies on the successful capture, manipulation, and editing of audio.
OBJECTIVES (Camp Highlights)
Capture and edit a library of sounds to incorporate into projects
Apply artistic and technical concepts like volume, panning, and effects
Edit ordinary sound to communicate specific emotive elements
Reproduce everyday sound effects to enhance audio quality of media projects
Develop listening skills through a series of engaging exercises
Students will construct a collection of audio and sound projects for various forms of entertainment, including radio broadcasts, video games, and movie trailers.

Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
FREE early drop-off starting at 8:00 a.m., and late pick-up available until 6:00 p.m.
