About the Course
Bring digital characters to life using Unreal Engine’s cutting-edge animation and virtual production tools. In this camp, students explore Unreal Engine’s Metahuman Creator ecosystem to understand how high-fidelity humans are built, rigged, and animated for games, film, and real-time production. Using Live Link Face and VCam technology, students will capture facial expressions and camera movement in real time, blending performance and storytelling in a hands-on creative workflow. Students experiment with sequencers, keyframe animation, lighting systems, mocap workflows, audio synching, and the powerful rendering features of Unreal Engine 5. They will see firsthand how animation, filmmaking, and technology merge in modern production pipelines. By the end of camp, each student will have created a short animation performance featuring a custom scene, cinematic camera work, and their own fully animated Metahuman character.
