About the Course
Photography is one of the most impactful art forms. With just a single image, photographers have the ability to preserve memories and stories. In this camp, students will delve into the essential two-part creative process of Photography and Post-Production – taking the photos and then editing and enhancing the photos. They will use principles of photography to create images that express a unique narrative. They will start with the production phase, where they will learn composition techniques, focus on manually operating DSLR cameras with ISO, aperture, and shutter speed, and experiment with lighting techniques. Students will then take their photographs into the post—production phase. They will learn how to sort, organize, and import their images. Then, students will move into the industry-standard Adobe Photoshop to color correct, enhance, and edit their own images. As the week progresses, they will continue to add tools to their belt to create more complex photo edits, working to enhance their images with a goal of telling a unique visual story.
