About the Course
Game art is the creation of all visual elements in a video game, from character designs, environments, and props to user interfaces, animations, and special effects. In this camp, students will explore the full visual pipeline used in modern game development and discover how teh visuals enhance gameplay, immersion, and storytelling. They will start with dynamic concept art and move through 2D asset creation, 3D modeling, and world-building. Students will sketch production-ready concepts, design pixel-perfect 2D sprites, build low-poly 3D objects/props using core modeling workflows, and develop immersive environments using lighting, composition, and texture fundamentals. With tools like Procreate, Piskel, and Blender, students will create game-ready assets and assemble a polished mini-portfolio that shows off their technical chops and creative style.
