Music Production requires an exploratory and innovative experimentation of technology and sound. In this virtual camp, students will learn the fundamentals of music production with Ableton Live 10, a mainstream software used by award-winning artists in the music industry today. They will program and experiment with multi-genre beat construction using audio samples, loops, and virtual instruments, incorporating a variety of mixing effects. Examine the musical qualities and music theory principles that make up different musical genres, as well as the resources, steps and frameworks that will help students master their own music production craft. Discover a unique sound and prepare, record, and export songs to be shared.

OBJECTIVES (Camp Highlights)
Navigate Ableton Live 10 interface
Identify music theory concepts, fundamental principles, and genre characteristics associated with different styles of music production
Create sounds using audio samples, loops, and virtual instruments
Explore MIDI programming, mixing, performing, and trouble-shooting
Apply mixing effects such as delay, reverb, and EQ'ing
Students will arrange, record, edit and export song arrangements in a variety of industry-leading musical genres.
