MUSIC PRODUCTION

Teens (AGES 13–17)

Music Production requires an adventurous and creative exploration of technology and sounds. In this program, students will experiment with multigenre beat construction using the Ableton Live software and the Ableton Push 2 digital expressive instrument. Students will create audio samples, learn advanced mix techniques using dynamic effects such as EQ and compression, and will record an original song with built-in virtual instruments and external plugins, accumulating the experience to produce and execute a live performance.

STUDENTS WILL

• Create and record an original song.
• Create beats using audio samples, loops, and virtual instruments.
• Apply mixing effects such as delay, reverb, and compression.
• Correct tempo timing and warp functions by merging multiple sounds together.
• Remix using envelopes and keyboard shortcuts to create quick workflow for live performances.

WHAT IF MY CHILD CAN'T START BY THE START DATE?

Our programs are comprehensive, meaning that they cover a lot of material during its duration. The programs run from January to May 2017; and resume from August through December 2017. If you cannot start at the beginning of the January term, there will be another opportunity start in October 2017.

What if my child misses a sesSion(S)?

If your child has to miss class because of vacation or other commitment, we'll arrange for you to come at another schedule time to make up the hours for that month.

IF the program I WANT IS FULL, IS THERE A WAITING LIST?

For those sessions that are already full, we will maintain a waiting list. To get into the waiting list, you must complete an online application indicating the session in which you are interested.  As spaces become available, the first name in the waiting list will be called to offer the space.

CAN I DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP?

Yes, but you will need to sign the children in and let us know who is picking them up. At the time of pick-up, our staff will ask for ID to match the name you provided at drop-off. You can also wait and relax in the comfort of the parents' lounge area.
